Which bike should I go for in the 150cc category

With the advent of new generation 150cc bikes you must never go back to the 100cc category. All of the new 150cc bike be it from Bajaj, Hero Honda or Honda offer competitive mileage to 100cc ones. The increased ride comfort provided by more power they offer and better styling are a definite go for.

Hero Honda 150cc Hunk Silver

With the availability of a multitude of bikes offering same performance, price and looks people are more confused than ever in buying a bike. So which one should you go for? Here are some points to remember before getting that new bike.

Hero Honda :
Being an old and faithful brand in India the have got a status of their own. The biggest plus point of a Hero Honda is the engine
itself. Resale value is another good thing about a HH. Although the HH will not provide you with the same styling or comfort a Bajaj offers you, if you are planning to use the bike for a long period and then selling it go for the Hero Honda.

Honda :
Honda currently offers you only one bike the Unicorn. The name Honda its story itself. The Unicorn is a definite go for. The Honda engine is the smoothest and quietest one in the 150cc class. Ride comfort is more that of a cruiser than a race bike. I don't know about the resale value, but it have to be good since its a Honda. Honda is also a good long term investment

Bajaj :
The Pulsar 150cc was the bike that brought the revolution in Indian bike industry. If it were not for the Pulsar we would not have seen this market grow at this pace. The best things about a Pulsar is its unique looks stying and comfort. Pulsar will offer you a sports bike like ride. But the Bajaj engine is not as good as any other in the class. Most of the Pulsars that I have seen had engine complaints after 2 or 3 years. The main problems being knocking sound, loss of power and irregular sounds and vibrations. Although it is a common perception that Bajaj bikes don't have good resale value I know an old Pulsar 150 clocked at 1,00,000Kms sold for above Rs 25,000. If you need the style and are planning to change bikes frequently you may go for Bajaj.
